About Boracay

Boracay – Asia’s best stretch of white sand and the most beautiful tropical beach in the world.

Boracay Island is one of the most popular destinations in the Philippines for all nationalities. Both Filipinos and Foreigners use Boracay for an out of this world holiday, famous for its "powder-white sands and pristine blue waters," this resort stretches from the western coast to the eastern shoreline. Boracay Island belongs to the island-group of Western Visayas.

Paradise Found

In the late 70’s and early 80’s, word spread among the European backpackers of an unspoilt island with the finest white sand beaches anyone had ever seen.

The images brought back were simply captivating—shimmering, blinding white sand, languid, diaphanous waters, exotic shells, spectacular sunsets and the most hospitable people you could ever meet. These sun worshippers kept on returning, bringing an increasing stream of international visitors with them.

Boracay soon become one of the most sought after destinations in the world.

Rhapsody

Beaches aside, Boracay is the perfect place for watersports, eco-adventures and other active pursuits. Facilities are available to suit different levels of aqua activity – from swimming, snorkeling, diving, boating, kayaking, windsurfing to boardsailing. For the adventurous on land, no trip to Boracay is complete without a bit of hiking, biking and spelunking.

Getting There

From Manila, take the 50-minute flight to Kalibo in the province of Aklan; from where you travel another two hours inland ( via bus or jeepney ) to Caticlan, or an hour flight direct to Caticlan airport where visitors are asked to fill up forms regarding travel details. Then, it's off to Boracay via outrigger boats.

Getting Around

The mood is very casual. Dress light. Walking is great for exploring the island's numerous white sand beaches, freshwater lagoons, coconut plantations and fishponds. Low-powered motorcycles are also available. Or go on horseback. Peso is the medium of exchange. The U.S. Dollar and major credit cards are widely accepted. Peak season is from November to May.

Day Activities

The beach is full of activities and has no end of water sports, diving and boat excursions available to use. This is the answer to the dreamer's quest for a haven where serenity reigns supreme. Miles and miles of powder fine white sand beaches, that stretch as far as the eyes can see. Boracay is a place for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
